New Tools for Summer 2008

 

Delta has a new entry level dust collector.  Replacing the AP400, the new 50-720 is a 1 hp model that pulls 650 CFM of air. Nice ugraded features include a 1 micron dust bag on top with clear plastic collection bags on bottom.  Pricing is around $249.
Milwaukee has two new worm drive circular saws on the market.  The 6477-20 (and the identical 6577-20 with Quick-Lok cord) feature magnesium construction, composite show, and an oil gauge.  Pricing is around $179.
Makita has two new jig saws on the market.  The 4350FCT (and the barrel grip 4351FCT) are 6.3 amp saw with tool free blade change, built in blower, and a LED work light.  Most interesting is Makita claims they are have 40% less vibration than the venerable Bosch models.  Pricing is at around $159.
DeWalt is upgrading is consumer line of electric drills.  The most interesting of the bunch is the new mid-handle DWD115K keyless drill that features an 8 amp motor for around $79.  A nice price for an 8 amp drill.
Makita has a new compact cordless impact drivers out this summer.  The Makita TD020DSEW features a 7.2 lithium ion battery systems and sells for around $99.
Panasonic's new line of Lithium Ion powered cordless tools has arrived.  The first is a 14.4 volt corldess drill  that sells for around $299.
